For the pre-discharge bankruptcy education and certificate of completion, you will be charged a fee not to exceed $20. No individual will be refused to counsel if they demonstrate the inability to pay, due to income level or hardship.
A fee waiver is available in cases where the debtor has income less than 150 percent of the poverty guidelines last published by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) (http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/11poverty.shtml). Review these guidelines with your attorney to see if you qualify. We are approved to issue certificates evidencing successful completion of a personal financial management instructional course in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of a Provider’s services. We will not disclose your identifiable information unless it is required to provide services for you which were directed by you or as required by law, such as is a response to a subpoena or to the United States Trustee for investigation of complaints, during on-site visits, or during the quality of service reviews. Your certificate will be provided promptly upon successful completion of the online Personal Financial Management Course. Please keep in mind that you and your attorney are responsible for filing the certificate with the court in a timely manner.
